Figured out? Ha. I’m brand new over here. 🔥

Figured out?

Ha. I’m brand new over here.

Hey friend, Hi!

Let me tell you something nobody says out loud.

People love to hand you this idea that by your late 50s you’ve arrived.

Like you’ve got this beautiful, tidy little bow on your life and you’re just… coasting on wisdom.

Yeah. No. Not even close!

Here’s what’s actually true for me right now:

Four years ago I blew up my career and started over. I added life coaching. I reinstated my real estate license, that I started back in 2002.

I am running two careers simultaneously, navigating an empty nest, and some days I still feel like the new kid.

So much for having it all figured out, right?

But here’s the thing I’ve stopped apologizing for:

I have never been this age before. OR here before.

Not once. Not ever.

And neither have you.

Let’s Kill This “Figured Out” Myth Right Now

Every single version of you has been brand new.

The you at 35, new.

The you who blended a family at 40, new.

The you reinventing yourself on your OWN terms after decades of doing it everyone else’s way?

Completely. Brand. NEW.

So why are we walking around embarrassed about still learning? Still figuring it out?

Still having days where we think, wait, is this right?

Am I doing this right?

That’s not weakness.

That’s what being ALIVE looks like. Wear it loud and proud my friend.

Ever catch yourself saying “I should have this figured out by now”, then feel guilty for NOT having it figured out?

Ever shrink from admitting you’re a beginner at something because you think it undermines everything you’ve built?

Ever perform confidence you don’t totally feel because God forbid anyone sees you mid-construction?

Same.

Here’s What I Bring to “New” Now That I Didn’t at 25

I’m not new like I was in my 20s, lost, people-pleasing, and running on approval.

I’m new with receipts.

I bring wisdom to the uncertainty now. I bring patience with the messy middle. I bring enough grace to know that not everything needs to be solved by Tuesday.

And I bring a zero-tolerance policy for wasting time on things — and people — that don’t matter.

Because at this stage? None of us have the bandwidth for pretending. For performing. For dancing around the truth to keep everyone comfortable.

Direct. Honest. Real. That’s the only gear I have left.

(And I’ll just say this… some of what gets called “boundaries” these days is really just avoidance with better branding. We’re going there next week. Stay tuned.)

You Are Not Behind. You Are Brand New.

Not behind. Not too late. Not supposed to have THIS version of yourself figured out yet.

Because this version of you just showed up.

You’re carrying everything you’ve survived, everything you’ve learned, and everything you finally stopped pretending you didn’t want.

You’re not winding down.

You’re just getting warmed up. 🔥

Your Challenge This Week

Write this down … no editing, no making it pretty:

“I’ve never been this version of myself before, and THIS version of me is finally ready to…”

Let it be messy. Let it be true.

That’s your next chapter knocking.

XOXO

Tonya

Ghosted? 👻 Here’s What’s Actually Happening (And Why It’s Rarely About You)

Ghosted? Here’s What’s Actually Happening (And Why It’s Rarely About You) Hey friend, hi Have you ever been ghosted? Yeah, me too. Want to know why you keep replaying that last conversation, looking for the thing you said wrong? Because blaming yourself is easier than facing the truth: sometimes people just disappear, and it has nothing to do with you. It happens with clients. It happens with friends. It happens with your own goals when you quietly stop showing up for them too. This isn’t…

You’ve met this person. You just didn’t know what they were doing.👀

The Skill Everyone Mistakes for Personality It’s not confidence. It’s not charisma. Hey, hi there, I’m going to jump right in, this is one of those things everyone thinks, but no one talks about….let’s dive in. Have you ever noticed ‘THAT’ person? Not the CEO. Not the most senior person in the room. The one who hasn’t said a word yet, and somehow everyone’s drawn to them. You’ve seen it, I know I have, dozens of times. A junior colleague in a meeting full of executives. Someone at a dinner…

[REAL TALK] Is It a Boundary; Or Are You Just Avoiding the Conversation?

BOUNDARY OR WALL? The Difference Between Protecting Yourself and Just… Hiding Hey friend, Let’s talk about something most people won’t say out loud. We’ve gotten really good at calling things boundaries. “I’m protecting my peace.” “I don’t do drama.” “They know what they did.” And sometimes? That’s exactly what’s happening. The boundary is real, necessary, and healthy. But sometimes? The boundary is just a wall. And the wall exists because a conversation never happened. There are two kinds…
